5-Thread Serger – Machine Mastery Class

5-Thread Serger – Machine Mastery Class

Both the Serger Basics and Serger Beyond Basics classes are geared for the functionality found in the 3-4 thread machines. But those machines which can handle up to 5-threads have functionality which is unique to them, and this class covers that. It is the 5-thread serger stitch known as the Cover Stitch which is used all over most commercially sewn knitwear such as t-shirts. Another totally cool stitch unique to the 5-thread machine is the Chain Stitch.

We’ll learn how to switch between normal serger stitching and cover/chain stitch stitching, as well as when to use both of these types versus the variety of other stitches available.

What kind of machines work best? This class is an all-brand class, but it does assume that the sergers are all manual threading. Those with jet-air threaded machines would probably not the get most for their money from this class. Also, because this specific to functionality on 5-thread machine, only those types of machines will be discussed.

What to bring? Your machine along with the power cord, foot control, all accessories that came with it, and 1 cone of each color thread: red, blue, green & yellow. Please make sure the machine is in good working order.
